WONDERDAG

What is Wonderdag, you may wonder...

"Wonderdag" are days of wonder and of wonders...
The word came from mixing up "woensdag" en "donderdag" (Wednesday and Thursday) , which my husband's cousin did when learning the days of the week in Dutch.

He was there when our daughter was born, and that was the first day we called Wonderdag. Many other wonderful days and moments followed, and I would like to remember and share some of these here.

summer fruit mix

Finally the summer heat hit in. Not that I am undividedly glad with that, sitting in a hot office most of the day - but feeling the strength of the sun when coming out of the house in the early morning is definitely pleasant, and so much more summer-like than what we saw over the past weeks!

Summer is also the season of fruits. Pomegranates at the Turkish grocery, peaches for almost nothing, strawberries, melon, berries, fresh plums... blend in the odd apples and oranges and put in the fridge for ultimate summer freshness. It's a shame I don't have a camera at my disposition at the moment, but working on that...
